SASCO has met with the NDPP’s office, through the Deputy NDPP to discuss consideration of prosecution of students who were involved in the struggle for free education. In 2015, it is a well-known fact that SASCO NEC led by Ntuthuko Makhombothi and Luzuko Buku took to the streets in demand of free education.
Since this historic struggle was waged, many students have been arrested, attending endless court cases. The organization has held a resolution to approach the NDPP to withdraw charges levelled against those students.
We have met the NPA that has promised to look into all cases.
We, therefore, request all students affected by this to send their details to the nearest branch of SASCO so that we are able to compile a database to be sent to the NPA for consideration of dropping the charges.
