SASCO DISTANCES ITSELF FROM ANC FACTIONS

South African Students Congress (SASCO) National Executive Committee has noted a misleading statement making rounds by a so called Retired Army Generals and MK Soldiers/Veterans. We wish to place it on record that we have never been part of any engagements that have planned a march to the convening ANC NEC Meeting this weekend nor are we part of any planned marches.

We firmly distance ourselves from any attempts to ridicule the current on-going protests as a ploy to factionally express ourselves within the factions of the African National Congress.

The on-going protests on the matter of increasing students funding, Opening of Registration and Clearing Students Debts purely have nothing to do with RET/CR factions which both do not serve the interests of Blacks in General and Africans in Particular.

We wish to reiterate our stance on our commitment to support any fight against Corruption and Looting of State Resources by anyone. Those who loot and bankrupt the state must face the full might of Law in a Fair court of Law. Corruption is a cancer that has weakened the state capacity and we shall never accept looting of the state because we fully understand the impact and consequences of such inhumane acts.

We wish to reiterate that we remain committed to engagements which are productive and progressive for the betterment of this country but closed to any factionalism especially of the African National Congress. So the attempts to divide the South African Students Congress (SASCO) shall never succeed.
