The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union [NEHAWU] will accompany the South African Students Congress [SASCO] back to the union buildings to deliver its memorandum of demands this morning at 11am.
Yesterday, SASCO could not deliver the memorandum because police elected to use tears to disperse students who were marching peacefully and detained others as an intimidation tactic. Secondly, the Presidency did not send anyone to collect the memorandum.
The demands contained in the memorandum are urgent and very important hence the decision to go back this morning to submit it again.
The handover will take place as follows:
Date: Thursday October 15, 2020
Time: 11am
Venue: Union Buildings, Pretoria
Members of the media are invited to attend and to cover the event.
