The South African Students Congress (SASCO) takes this time to announce the unfortunate news of the passing of the SASCO Free State Provincial Task Team Convener, Comrade Siyabulela ‘Siya’ Lufele who has succumbed to death on the afternoon of Wednesday, 22 July 2020, at 19:00 after a short illness.
“It is not length of life, but depth of life.” Ralph Waldo Emerson. We find comfort on those words as we bid farewell to one of our combatants, indeed Mawawa is gone and we are one soldier less in our struggle for Free Quality and Compulsory Education in South Africa.
We wish to send our sincere condolences to the Lufele family, friends and his comrades, we say may we all find solace in Matthew Chapter 5 verse 4 when it says,
“Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted”.
The SASCO National officials will be visiting the family on Thursday, 23 July 2020 and therefore further details of his memorial and funeral service will be communicated in due course.
The Regulations shall be adhered to as we mourn our Brother, Comrade.
Hamba kahle Mawawa, Mpinga!!
